Eventually, you get a sudden burst of motivation about thirty minutes later, prompting a frantic rush to get ready. You dash into the shower, which you definitely should have done the night before.

After dressing in a whirlwind, perhaps clutching a coffee you didn’t actually have time to brew, you rush out the door only to realize you’ve forgotten your car keys, forcing you to double back. Ah, the classic ADHD experience!

At this point, you’re fully aware that you’re late for work again. This pattern can lead to a state of disarray that becomes second nature. When was the last time you clocked in before 9 AM? I can’t recall either.

But here’s the crucial point—does this make you a bad person or inadequate in your job? Absolutely not.

If you end your day feeling incompetent, I urge you to reconsider. You can indeed thrive with ADHD at work—I know this firsthand, as do many others in the same boat.

Once I came to understand my brain's workings and began collaborating with my uniquely wired mind, I realized that ADHD can be a superpower. It offers the potential to forge strong connections with others, an essential skill in any workplace.

Contribute in Meetings

Speaking up during meetings can be particularly challenging if you’re new to the workplace, but it’s crucial to share your ideas. Individuals with ADHD often generate a wealth of ideas quickly. Embracing this aspect of your ADHD can help you work more effectively.
