The Thirst of the Ocean: A Reflection on Human Connections
Written on
Chapter 1: The Need for Connection
In life, despite the love, trust, and commitment I extend to others, I often find that my own happiness is elusive. No matter how virtuous I strive to be, I, too, require love, compassion, and dedication. Just like a vast ocean, I too experience a thirst for connection.
This journey through life can be navigated alone, yet I occasionally falter in my choices. It's possible to feel so fatigued that turning back to my true path seems daunting. While the ocean is immense, it relies on rivers to sustain its greatness.
I have often confined myself within self-imposed limitations. Yet, must I always remain shackled by these constraints? It’s important to recognize that calmness should not be mistaken for weakness; it can simply be a boundary. When others push beyond my limits, I must step outside those boundaries to protect my own identity.
Despite my efforts to maintain a positive outlook, the world around me often feels like a battleground for negativity. Deceit, jealousy, and hatred seem omnipresent. No matter how hard I try to distance myself from these influences, they persist. Therefore, I, too, need the winds of change to cleanse my thoughts and keep my spirit flowing like the ocean.
Ultimately, I wish to convey that, regardless of my positive mindset, I rely on the thoughts and perspectives of others. It is easy to label the ocean as vast, yet it too requires companionship to maintain its expansiveness. Indeed, it too experiences thirst.
