Chapter 1: The Tragic Case of Nancy DePriest

In the heart of Austin, Texas, 20-year-old Nancy DePriest lived with her husband Todd and their young daughter Sylvia. Employed at a local Pizza Hut, Nancy began her shifts early in the morning. On that fateful October day in 1988, she prepared the dough and prepped pizzas for the day ahead.

When the restaurant manager called to check in, he received no response. Concerned, he arrived around 9:30 AM to discover Nancy in the bathroom, severely injured and stripped of her clothes. Tragically, she had been shot in the back of the head and succumbed to her injuries later that day in the hospital.

Chris Ochoa confessed to the murder, implicating his friend Richard as his accomplice. While DNA testing initially seemed to support their claims, the real murderer would eventually surface, casting doubt on their convictions.
