Tackling the Frustrations of Commenting on Medium

Chapter 1: The Commenting Dilemma
The presence of scammers, spammers, and bots can really dampen the experience on Medium. If it weren't for these nuisances, we wouldn’t have to face comment limits.
I'm feeling somewhat restricted in my ability to engage. If you've noticed that I've highlighted or clapped for your article but haven't left a comment, please understand it's due to these limits—my apologies! I truly hope it hasn't negatively impacted your read ratio.
Adding to my frustration is the uncertainty of when I'll be able to comment again. I don't want to overload Medium's Tech Support with requests, so here I am, reaching out to you. I genuinely want to engage in a conversation about your fantastic stories. I was captivated by the recent works of Ben Ulansey, whose reviews are always insightful. Additionally, Spyder Darling's piece reminded me of the importance of getting to bed earlier, although I often find myself tossing and turning at night—a frustrating cycle he aptly pointed out. I appreciate his wit and New York flair.
Section 1.1: The Impact of Comment Limits
Do others feel similarly constrained? It seems like I would comment even more if I were certain that Medium wouldn’t penalize writers when readers simply want to engage with the content without leaving a comment.
Back in August 2023, there was a push for more interaction, and I believed that comments were encouraged. However, it feels like there's been a shift in that approach lately.
Subsection 1.1.1: Reader Behavior Changes
Some readers hesitate to highlight their favorite parts, perhaps out of a desire to remain unnoticed or simply to enjoy the reading experience without engaging. This is similar to how I behave when browsing articles online.
Is Medium shifting its focus in this direction? I know some are apprehensive about commenting after the recent purge. It seems there’s an emphasis on concentrating on writing and submitting to niche publications. I would love to hear your perspectives on this evolving situation.
