Chapter 1: The Struggle with Stats

In my journey as a writer, I often aim to offer value to my readers. However, this piece is different—I'm reaching out for your guidance. As friends, I trust you'll understand my predicament.

Here's the Situation:

Recently, 77 countries were added to the Medium Partnership program, and my country is among them. Naturally, I applied and was accepted. Coincidentally, this occurred just as I was gearing up to write again, given that the new semester had just begun and my schedule was still manageable.

Unfortunately, this is where my difficulties started. The prospect of earning money has made writing feel significantly more challenging. The joy and enthusiasm I once had for writing seem to be dwindling. I find myself no longer just sharing my thoughts in hopes of connecting with others but also aiming for financial gain.

Although I am genuinely thankful to be part of the partnership program—a goal I have long awaited—it has led to an unhealthy obsession with my low statistics. I spend countless hours pondering how to improve them and fantasizing about the day I might earn my first $1000.

Please Help Me:

I want to shift my perspective on writing for Medium, but my attempts have been unsuccessful. I've consumed numerous YouTube videos on how to detach from specific outcomes. I remind myself to write freely and not put excessive pressure on my work. I strive to remember why I love writing in the first place: you, my readers. Yet, these efforts seem futile.

I realized I needed your support when I was struggling to complete an article, feeling frustrated and thinking, "This is so silly; no one will ever read this." Truthfully, I doubt many will read this either, but as they say, hope springs eternal.

So, I ask you: "What can I do to quell this obsession? How can I rekindle my love for writing?"
